Some persons suspected to be policemen, on Friday, reportedly stormed the Police Clinic in Garki, Abuja, and took away Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district.
The men were said to have carried out the evacuation of the embattled lawmaker around 2:15 pm in a “commando-style”, according to The Punch.
The report said the senator is believed to have been taken to Lokoja for interrogation, over an alleged shooting of one sergeant Danjuma Aliu, by some suspected thugs belonging to him.
The report further claimed that a close associate of Melaye confirmed the incident to the newspaper.
Senator Melaye, who has been having a running battle with the police, was rushed to the clinic for medical attention after he slumped last week.
Before his arrest, the police had barricaded the Kogi federal lawmaker’s house in Maitama for eight days, vowing not to leave until he submitted himself to them.
The Force Headquarters is yet to confirm the senator’s whisking as at the time of this report.
